Blount County
Pursuant to the provisions of the Alabama Environmental Management Act, the Alabama Department of Environmental Management is proposing to issue an Order to James and Meloney Stufflebeme for failure to close an illegal scrap tire accumulation at 877 Armstrong Loop Road (22-05-22-0-000-018.003), in Hayden, Blount County, Alabama.
The violation consisted of James and Meloney Stufflebeme creating and not properly closing an illegal scrap tire accumulation.
The Department is proposing a civil penalty in the amount of $5,000. The Order, if issued, would require James and Meloney Stufflebeme to cease and desist operating or contributing to the illegal scrap tire accumulation, in addition to requiring the submission of an abatement plan to the Department. This plan must detail the actions that will be taken to remove and properly dispose of all scrap tires, scrap tire material, and all other regulated solid waste from the property, along with a schedule for the completion of all abatement activities.
Interested persons may submit written comments, including a request for a hearing, within 30 days of the publication date of this notice to:
